The concept of divisions was implemented for the first time on October 13, 2002. Prior to this system, Expansion Fleet was divided in four sections: Starfleet, the Corporation, the Romulan Fleet and the Cardassian Fleet. With this reform into divisions, the Romulan and Cardassian Fleet became divisions of the Corporation section, and in November 2002 the Corporation Interpol Division also joined the Corporation. In August, 2003, Expansion Fleet and the Corporation parted ways, and in October 2003 Expansion Fleet started a new section called the "Delta Alliance". Expansion Fleet contained in total more than 25 divisions, though they were not all active at once. Some joined, left, merged together and were closed down over a timeframe of about 4 years. On September 21, 2006, all divisions were put on hold except for Avalon Division and StarPhoenix Base. On November 1, 2006, the concept of Divisions was abolished altogether. Below are the names and banners of various divisions, sorted by join date where possible.
Avalon DivisionThis was the main division of Expansion Fleet.
StarPhoenix DivisionThis was the secondary division of Expansion Fleet.
ShadowfleetThis division joined in November 2002. It closed down on March 1, 2005. Another Shadow Fleet RPG appears to have been created at a later time (presumably in 2007), before Expansion Fleet came to its end, and appears to have become the place where several of the players moved to when Expansion Fleet closed down. As such, it can be considered to be a follow-up (though not necessarily in storyline). Their website is at http://www.shadowfleet.org/.
Damasca DivisionThis division joined in November 2002. It closed down on June 28, 2003.
Klingon FleetThis division joined in November 2002. It was closed down on June 28, 2003.
Britannia FleetThis division joined in November 2002. It was removed from Expansion Fleet on December 19, 2002.
Intelligence DivisionThere is no record of the creation or join date of this division. The Federation Secret Service split off from it on December 27, 2002, and merged with it again on February 28, 2004. On June 24, 2005, Alpha Division merged with it as well.
Starfleet MarinesThis division joined on November 18, 2002. It was closed on May 13, 2003, and its forums merged with StarPhoenix Division.
Federation Secret ServiceThis division (also called F.S.S.) joined on December 27, 2002, after being part of the Intelligence Division first. The division then merged with the separate Intelligence Division again on February 28, 2004, as the Intell/FSS Division. The story of this division can be found on the article of the Federation Secret Service.
Gamma DivisionThis division joined on December 27, 2002, and was formerly called "Star Trek : Federation". On June 28, 2003, it was closed down. A secondary Gamma Division joined on July 9, 2004. It was merged with with Task Force 10 on October 21, 2004, and became the Task Force Gamma Division, until it decided to leave Expansion Fleet on July 23, 2005.
Borg DivisionThis division joined on December 30, 2002. No other records are available.
Omega DivisionThis division joined on January 8, 2003. No other records are available.
Epsilon DivisionThis division joined on October 12, 2003. It was closed down in August 2004. Its forums were used to relocate Nova Division on after its own server had crashed.
Nova DivisionThis division joined on March 4, 2004. Its server suffered a severe crash on December 18, 2004, and was relocated to the old Epsilon Division board.
Alpha Fleet DivisionThis division joined on July 16, 2004. On June 24, 2005, it merged with the Intelligence Division.
Valhalla DivisionThis division joined on October 17, 2004. On August 26, 2005, it merged with the StarPhoenix Division. The banner for this division did not show the name of Valhalla Division, but rather Ryan's RPG.
Emergency Responsive DivisionThis division, also called ERD, joined on October 17, 2004. No other records are available. The website is still located at http://expansionfleet-erd.tripod.com/.
Task Force Gamma DivisionThis division was created on October 21, 2004, by the merge of the Gamma Division and Task Force 10. It left Expansion Fleet on July 23, 2005.
USS OronicoThis division joined on December 29, 2004. No other records are available.
GreyWolf DivisionThis division joined on January 4, 2005. On August 14, 2004, it merged with the Windsor Division to become the Vanguard Division. The website for this division was located at this URL.
Tyrus DivisionThis division joined on January 4, 2005. It was closed down on November 2, 2005.
Warshrike DivisionThis division joined on January 10, 2005. No other records are available.
Windsor DivisionThis division joined on July 3, 2005. On August 2005, it merged with GreyWorlf Division to become the Vanguard Division. The Windsor Division website is located at http://www.freewebs.com/windsor_division/ or http://windsor_division.webs.com/.
Firefox DivisionThis division joined on July 5, 2005. No other records are available.
Vanguard DivisionThis division was created on August 14, 2005, by the merge of GreyWolf Division and Windsor Division. It was closed down on October 24, 2005, but reopened on November 2, 2005.
Other divisionsFrontier DivisionThere are no records of this division. It appears that this division was only active between July 2006 and August 2006.
U.M.A. DivisionThere are no records on this division, not even the full name of it. It is only known that it was closed down on March 1, 2005, at the same time as Shadowfleet.
Vidiian DivisionNo records are available of this division, other than that it was closed down on June 28, 2003.
